Programs
Program Overview
Disaster Response Services (DRS) is built as an ecosystem of small, connected programs. Each division supports families, volunteers, and partner agencies at a different part of the disaster cycle: before, during, and after an emergency.
Fire & TECC
Focus: Fireground rehab, Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC), and wildfire outreach.
- Rehab support for firefighters and responders at incidents.
- TECC training for responders, volunteers, and community members.
- Wildfire and defensible space outreach for residents.
CERT & Community Preparedness
Focus: Neighbors helping neighbors with real training and ongoing support.
- Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training and support.
- Neighborhood preparedness workshops and presentations.
- Support for county and local CERT programs and exercises.
Mobile Classroom & Command Trailer
Focus: Training, command, rehab, and media tools on wheels.
- Roll-in, roll-out classroom that can visit neighborhoods, schools, and events.
- Simple command and rehab space for long incidents or planned operations.
- Small media studio for recording training, briefings, and outreach content.
Applied Intelligence Division (A.I.D.) & A.I.D.E.N.
Focus: Human-centered technology and AI tools that support, not replace, responders.
- CERT Companion AI to help with learning, refreshers, and “what if” questions.
- Checklists, mapping, and planning tools to make training stick.
- Ethical, human-in-the-loop design for all technology we deploy.
Media & Youth Programs
Focus: Simple, clear disaster education for kids, families, and the wider community.
- Youth-focused concepts like “Paws for Life / Pulse for Life.”
- The Command Post podcast and other audio/video content.
- Plain-language resources that explain emergencies and recovery.
Future Programs
DRS is actively planning additional programs as capacity and partnerships allow:
- Animal Ambulance & Pet Support – support for animals and their people during incidents.
- Search & Rescue (SAR) – collaboration with SAR partners and NASAR-aligned training.
If you are an agency, nonprofit, or community member interested in these future programs, please reach out through our Contact page. We build new efforts slowly, with real partners, to keep them sustainable and safe.
