What “The Command Post” is about
“The Command Post” is where training, technology,
and lived experience meet. Episodes are designed to be calm, honest, and practical —
no sensationalism, no graphic detail, and no scare tactics.
The focus is on how communities actually prepare, respond, and recover. That includes
the emotional realities of disaster work, the challenges of rural and tribal settings,
and the tools that can actually help rather than overwhelm.
Over time, the podcast will also highlight youth preparedness projects, the Mobile
Classroom & Command Trailer, and the work of local partners and volunteers.
What you’ll hear
- Disaster preparedness deep dives in plain language
- Behind-the-scenes of DRS training and field support
- Conversations about TECC, CERT, and community resilience
- AI tools like A.I.D.E.N. and CERT Companion in context
- Stories from responders, volunteers, and community members
Episode 1 — Welcome to The Command Post

Release rhythm
Episodes will follow real DRS projects — major trainings, trailer deployment,
new tools, and partner stories. Instead of forcing a schedule, the podcast is
designed to track the work as it unfolds.
